Every bunny that comes through SaveABunny depends on volunteers to get them fed, socialized, healthy, and ready for a home. There’s a role here whether you want to work hands-on with rabbits, help behind the scenes, or lend a professional skill to the organization.
Who can volunteer
Volunteers must be 13 years or older. Volunteers under 18 need a parent or legal guardian to sign a liability waiver before their first shift.
What on-site volunteering looks like
Most on-site shifts run 2–3 hours and can be scheduled weekly or biweekly, depending on the role. All on-site roles take place at our Mill Valley center unless noted otherwise.
- Bunny Care & Socialization — Feed, clean, and spend time with rabbits at our center to help them stay happy and adoption-ready.
- Adoption Counseling — Meet with prospective adopters, answer questions, and help match the right bunny with the right home.
- Transport — Drive rabbits to and from vet appointments, foster homes, or adoption events.
- Event Support — Help staff fundraisers, adoption events, and community outreach.
- Handywork & Facilities — Assist with repairs, cleaning, and general upkeep at our center.

What remote volunteering looks like
Remote roles are flexible and can typically be done on your own schedule from home.
- Administrative Support — Help with data entry, correspondence, and day-to-day office tasks.
- Grant Writing — Research funding opportunities and help draft grant proposals.
- Social Media & Communications — Help tell SaveABunny’s story across our newsletter and social channels.
- Photography — Edit and organize photos of adoptable rabbits and events to support adoption listings and marketing.
- Web/Tech Support — Help maintain and improve our website and tools.
What you’ll get out of it
- Hands-on experience working with rescue animals
- A flexible way to build skills — from animal care to marketing to admin — on your own schedule
- A community of people who care about the same things you do
- The particular kind of joy that comes from watching a bunny get adopted because of something you helped with
