Hey, I'm 'Nuff the youngest member of the Late Bloomer Club!

I was too young to remember but was told in June 2015 a good samaritan saw a dog running around with a baby bunny in its mouth, gave chase and saved the baby -- that was me! I was taken to a local county shelter who immediately called SaveABunny to take me so I could receive emergency medical care -- I was only around 3 weeks old and had near fatal bite wounds all over my tiny body as well as a broken paw.

The next few months were rough as the bite wounds turned into deep abscesses that required surgery to open then had to be drained daily. Since I was so young I also needed syringe feeding, which is never as nutritious and calorie-rich as real bunny mothers milk and mortality is high for babies not yet eating on their own. I was sick and fragile for a long time and the humans who cared for me felt bad and called me 'Nuff, as in "I'm having a such hard time -- enough already!" But I really wanted to stick around and experience the world so I tried to be brave and fought very hard to be here even though I was really too young to be without a bunny mom and siblings to keep me company.

When I started feeling a bit better I got introduced to the old timers of the Late Bloomer Club. Everyone hoped they would "adopt" me and maybe even spoil and dote on me a little bit and they did! The Bloomers welcomed me with open paws and taught me everything they knew about how to bunny and didn't even mind when I binkied all over the place and accidentally woke them up from their naps (whoops!). I tried to be quiet, I really did, but I was so happy to be with other bunnies I couldn't help expressing my joy at finding my crew!

So now I'm a full member of the LBC and even though the bunnies are older and wiser than me I love them dearly and would not leave for anything. Besides they need me to keep them young and hip by teaching them the latest dance moves and showing them the newest technology cords to chew. Best of all I've made a full recovery!

It's been a few weeks since we shared about "Nuff. If you recall, 'Nuff is the gravely injured baby bunny rescued last...

July 2, 2015. Update on tiny orphan baby boy: 'Nuff

Update on tiny orphan baby boy: 'NuffA couple days ago SaveABunny rescued this 3 week old baby with a broken front paw and bite wounds/abscesses. Despite best efforts to soak and naturally open the abscesses they're so extensive (channeling all over his back) they must be surgically opened and drained. He has an appointment with Dr. Carolyn Harvey at Chabot Veterinary Clinic tomorrow. In the meantime he's on pain meds and antibiotics and being syringe fed a mixture of fine grind Critical Care and milk replacement. Marcy named him 'Nuff as in "I'm having a hard time -- 'nuff already!" Despite his troubles 'Nuff tries very hard to just be a baby, and really looks up to Marcy as his mom.Contributions to 'Nuff's care gladly welcome (type "Nuff" in the rabbit to sponsor box): http://saveabunny.org/donate/phoenix-fund.
