My foster parents are adopting me! I love them, too.
Hi. My name is Delroy. Please read my story. I need your help.
NOTE FROM SAVEABUNNY FOUNDER: Thanks to generous donations from our supporters Delroy received the eye surgery he needed. His left eye was badly infected, causing deep pain and posing the very real threat of a fatal infection. Dr. Carolynn Harvey removed his eye and within days Delroy was looking and feeling so much better as his pain and infection disappeared.
Delroy is doing great and his stitches have now been removed. The pre-op blood work showed that Delroy is e. cunniculi positive,so he is currently on a treatment course of albendazole---though he is not showing many symptoms.
Delroy is absolutely adorable and very friendly. He will win you over with his sweetness and goofy charm.
Do you have an e.cuuniculi bunny who might be looking for a friend? Or perhaps, you want Delroy all to yourself?!
Any way you look at it, he's a great little bunny man.
I was found as a "stray" in Golden Gate Park by a good Samaritan who was riding his bike and swerved to avoid a rock in his path. That "rock" was me.
Clearly, I had been dumped in the park by someone who no longer wanted me. I was cold, very thin, covered in mites and almost lifeless.Pet rabbits like me are unable to survive on our own when people "set us free" and it just becomes a death sentence by the elements or predators, like hawks, owls, feral cats and other animals looking for prey.
My left eye has a deep wound and was crusted over. I am likely blind in this eye and will probably need eye surgery which may cost approximately $1000.
Some people ask why a rabbit like me gets "saved" when there are so many healthy rabbits out there also needing help. It's a tricky question and all I can say is that I am very grateful to be alive and want to live.
Upon my arrival at SaveABunny I received a nurturing full grooming of my fur which was dirty, matted and showed very clear signs of extended neglect and possibly abuse. My toe nails were so long they curled around and I couldn't walk right and it feels so much better to have them trimmed. I have perked up and am now eating well and grooming myself. I had given up hope on people and now I have trust and faith again.
If you are touched by my story and want to help me continue to heal, please consider making a donation to help with my medical expenses. I also need a safe, loving foster home for several months.
Thank you so much for your compassion and generosity. It really means the world to me.
